Boil Advisory Issued for Wards Three and Eight

Calcasieu Waterworks District #5 has issued a boil advisory, effective immediately for wards three and eight. There is a break in the water main. Residents living on Opelousas Street from Cookie Lane, Highway 395, including all roads connected to Highway 397 south of Swift Plant Road. In addition, residents living on/off Highway 90 as well as those living east of 397.

Waterworks is recommending that all residents living within the areas affected disinfect all water before consuming it. This includes using water for hygiene purposes like brushing your teeth, fountain drink machines, ice, or using tap water to prepare food.

Water is safe for consumption one minute after coming to a rolling boil. The boil advisory will be canceled when the all clear is issued by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals’ Office of Public Health.
