Issac Broussard, a senior at Barbe High School, will be attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the fall. Broussard is one of two applicants chosen from Louisiana for the Cooke College Scholarship.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation chose 118 recipients from 26 high schools across the United States. The finalista for this year will receive up to $40,000 annually to cover their undergraduate education. They will also receive comprehensive educational advising from the foundation staff, connect with other active scholars and alum, internship opportunities, study abroad, and access to graduate school funding.

Over five thousand students applied for the scholarship from all fifty states. Many of the scholars will go to college in the fall to study biological science, engineering, computer science, and political science.

Congratulations to Issac Broussard for being a finalist. We are honored to know someone like you will be representing Southwest Louisiana with pride.
