Do to the deteriorating weather conditions, all of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Offices closed today (Tuesday January 16) at noon. Dick Gremillion, Director of the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is urging all residents to avoid traveling, unless absolutely necessary to avoid the icy roadways.

Drivers are to use extreme caution, as black ice is likely in some areas and it's next to impossible to see. Public Works crews are out and closely monitoring parish roads, and sanding any bridges or elevated surfaces as needed.
