20 Disney Princess Fun Facts
With Disney On Ice coming to Lake Charles this week, I wanted to test your Disney princess knowledge.
Buzz Feed has a really cool list of Disney Princess facts, so I picked 20 of my favorites. To see the entire list, click the link at the end of the article.
I learned a lot from this "research" and some of these facts blew my mind!
20 Disney Princess Fun Facts:
- Snow White was 14 years old. She’s the youngest Disney Princess.
- Pocahontas is the only princess based on a real person.
- Walt Disney told Ilene Woods, who voiced Cinderella, that Cinderella was his favorite.
- Alyssa Milano’s face was used to model Ariel’s look.
- Snow White is the only Disney Princess to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
- Merida is the only princess with brothers.
- Princess Aurora had only 18 minutes of screen time and 18 lines of dialogue in the film, making her the quietest Disney Princess.
- Rapunzel and Snow White are both from Bavaria.
- Tiana is the only Princess with dimples.
- Disney’s Pocahontas is 18 in the film but in real life, she was much younger when she met Jon Smith. Roy Disney said that it made a more dramatic telling of the story since they could work a romantic angle with an older character.
- Belle is the only person in her town wearing the color blue, symbolizing she as an outsider. Later, you see the Beast wearing blue too.
- Jasmine is the second-youngest princess. She’s 15, one year older than Snow White.
- Disney shot all of Cinderella in live-action to use it as a guide for animation.
- Reese Witherspoon was also originally cast as the voice of Merida, but Kelly MacDonald ended up doing the job.
- Cinderella was 19.
- The official lineup of Disney Princesses includes Jasmine, Ariel, Rapunzel, Tiana, Belle, Merida, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Aurora, Mulan, and Snow White.
- Belle was 17.
- Pocahontas is the only Princess to have a tattoo.
- Rapunzel’s has the biggest eyes of all the Disney Princesses.
- Which Disney Princesses are left-handed? Well, that would be Mulan & Tiana.
