4 weeks ago LSU was the hot ticket for the 2013 NFL draft! The talk of this year’s draft was, as you may expect was, Tyrann Mathieu, The Honey Badger. Well, not to be anti-climactic, but , Mathieu will be going to the Arizona Cardinals. Still, a full baker's dozen players from LSU have now joined the ranks of the NFL.

January 24, 2013 After the Arkansas Razorbacks football program took a run at getting current LSU football head coach Les Miles, the LSU athletic program stepped up with a new contract to keep Miles in Baton Rouge for at least seven more years.
Now it is being reported that the amended contract will have to be presented to the Board of Supervisors for approval because the new contract contains a salary increase for miles from 3.751 million a year to 4.3 million per year plus other incentives.
November 29, 2012 The Tyrann Mathieu saga continues. ESPN is reporting that the "Honey Badger" Tyrann Mathieu says he will enter into the NFL Draft in 2013 instead of trying to return back to LSU next year.

Yesterday's reports of the Arkansas Razorbacks offering Les Miles a 5-year, $27 million deal are officially null and void. Miles has signed a contract extension with LSU that will keep him at the university for 7 years.
