He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on March 18, 1972. Cook thinks he was "pretty quiet, introverted, and shy" as a child. In his junior year of high school, he overcame his shyness and started acting and performing stand-up comedy. He studied graphic design in college after high school as a backup plan if his comedy career didn't work out. He currently designs all of his merch as well as a few of his own album covers.

Dane will take the Grand Event Center stage at the Golden Nugget Casino/Resort in Lake Charles on Friday, May 16 at 8:30pm.
