The band was formed in 1992 in Stockbridge, Georgia. Collective Soul released their first album on an independent label and their song "Shine" started to get heavy rotation on regional radio stations. That caught the attention of Atlantic Records who signed the band and re-released their first album. Shine became a national hit and went straight to #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart. And the rest, as they say, is history.
