Will Myles Brennan Be Ready To Play Against Alabama?
The news of Myles Brennan's health is being held like a government secret by the LSU Tigers leading up to a SEC battle with number two ranked Alabama.
The Bayou Bengals will be off this week to lick their wounds after a 48-11 beatdown from conference rival Auburn. During last week's massacre, true Freshman OB T.J. Finley looked like just that, a true freshman. It has the same Tiger fans who created a QB controversy when Finley lead the team to a 52-24 win over South Carolina pleading for the return of the more seasoned Brennan.
Coach O had this to say at a press conference:
We’re going to throw the ball with him a little today. Try to get into the offense, see what he can do. He’s not ready yet. It’s day-by-day. I don’t know if he’s going to be ready for the Alabama game. I think we’ll know a little bit more next week. We’re going to try to let him do some things today, see how he can do it.
Myles has missed two games so far with a partially torn oblique muscle, so I guess we'll have to wait another week to get an announcement from the team on how he is healing.
In general, the return time for a partially torn oblique muscle is two to four weeks. However, we really don't know the severity of his injury, and the oblique muscle is a key muscle group when throwing a football, especially on the run.
