Wheel of Fortune Cheats Contestant

Since when has diction been important on "Wheel of Fortune?"

The contestant got the answer right, but she dropped the "g" when she pronounced the word "swimming." Pat Sajak, the show's long time host, declared the answer wrong and went on to the next contestant. Obviously, the next contestant gave the same answer on with the offending consonant in place. Even the winning contestant was baffled as to why the dropped "g" should matter.
