Iconic Southwest Louisiana Hangout Wayne & Layne’s Shutting Its Doors
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - A local business that has been a fixture in SWLA for over three decades has announced they're closing the doors to their popular deli and bar.
Weekends will never be the same again for many SWLA residents. From live events, concerts, charity events, food, to cold beer this place did it all.

One of the owners of Wayne and Layne's Deli and Bar, Wayne Hardin, took to social media to announce the closing:
We say this with a heavy heart: For over 30 years, Wayne and Layne’s has been a household name throughout SWLA/SETX that eventually spread far and wide, reaching places two young boys from Hackberry would have never imagined. A term we often used: “small town famous”. We started this adventure as most do with very little money and big dreams. We can barely grasp how many friends we have made along the way, and today we refer to those friends as our family. The memories (good and bad) that were made in those 30 years from weddings to funerals and life changing benefits will forever be etched in our minds. Many of you and your children discovered spouses here! Wayne and Layne’s have been a huge part of our own children’s lives, and all these things together made this journey worth it. From the bottom of our hearts, Wayne and Layne would like to thank each and every one of you that have supported our business and made this possible for 30 years!! This is very bittersweet, but Wayne and Layne’s last weekend will be Friday, August 8th Marvin Simon will playing the old school music and Saturday, August 9th Kaleb Trahan and friends will be playing cajun music with Barry Badon we hope to have one last beer with everyone!!!!

It's always sad to see when local businesses have to shutter their doors, especially after over 30 years of serving our community. We wish them good luck in their future endeavors and want to say thank you for doing so much for SWLA along the way.
