Gulf Storm Returns: Louisiana, Texas Brace for Rain
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - The same Gulf disturbance that impacted Louisiana last week, has made a total loop and is coming back for round two.
Last week that disturbance went through Southeast Louisiana, traveled through multiple eastern states, got back into the Atlantic Ocean, and is now being forced down again to Florida and eventually back into the Gulf of America.

Currently, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is giving the disturbance a 10% chance of formation.
Here in Louisiana and Texas we'll be looking at another rain event with this disturbance as meteorologists don't think this storm will have a chance to form into anything significant.
Meteorologist Zack Fradella also gives us some good news with the approaching storm; this will knock out the heat wave we have been experiencing for the last week.

Weather forecasters are once again expecting this disturbance to hug the Gulf coast, but this time it seems it will be bringing rain to Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas.
Prepping For The Hurricane Season
With a more active hurricane season predicted, Gulf residents should take steps to prepare early. Here are some important things to do:
- Create an emergency plan: Know where you will go if you need to evacuate and have a way to communicate with family.
- Stock up on supplies: Have enough food, water, batteries, and medicine to last at least three days.
- Check your home and insurance: Make sure your house is ready for strong winds and heavy rain. Review your insurance policy to see what is covered.
- Stay informed: Watch the weather and listen to local officials for updates during the season. Download the free 92.9 The Lake app.
