Good news for motorist traveling to and from Texas, the segment of I-10 at the state line is now open for traffic both East and West bound. The recent raining and flooding that has crippled many parts of Louisiana and Texas brought more rain and high water than anticipated and it effectively shut-down travel on the much used interstate.

The news came late Friday afternoon from authorities in Texas and from the Louisiana State Police. The west bound side was reopened first, but the west-bound lanes of the interstate needed repairs before it could be opened a few hours later. All the repairs are now completed.

We have also learned that La. 109 between Alligator Park Road and Green Island Road has reopened following Sabine River flooding in the Starks area. It's expected that most other roadways will again become passable over the weekend barring any repairs that may be made to those routes.
