The Righteous Brothers were formed in 1962 in Orange County, California. Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley were in different groups before they met, but their love for soul music brought them together. Hatfield passed away in 2003. Bill Medley said in an interview about the group's new member back in 2016, "No one could ever take Bobby’s place, but when I caught Bucky Heard’s show it all came together. I found the right guy to help me recreate the Magic.”
