The biggest PGA golf tournament and major championship got under way yesterday but in true 2020 fashion, it was strange without fans.

The tournament known as The Masters is one of four major championships played every year for the PGA tour and its pros. The golf course, which is one of the most beautiful on the tour and in the United States, is located in Augusta, Georgia.

On a regular year, the golf course is super packed with enthusiastic golf fans cheering on their favorite golfers as they make their way around this tough course but this year is a totally different story.

The Masters was slated to be played earlier this year but due to the pandemic, the tournament was postponed and scheduled for this week. Of course, no fans are allowed on the course during the four-day tournament.

The world's best golfers are on display this week and weekend. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Bubba Watson, and Rory McElroy among many others are vying for the win and the green jacket.

Yesterday,Paul Casey shot an impressive seven under par to take the first round lead. Three players sit at five under par and tied for second, and there is a gaggle of players sitting at four under par after the end of round one.

The tournament is covered heavily on television due to the importance of The Masters. ESPN will air round two coverage today starting at noon. This weekend, CBS takes over the coverage and will air the tournament Saturday and Sunday starting at 1:00pm. Who will win the green jacket? We shall see.
