When Texas And Louisiana Will Be Able To See The Strawberry Moon
(KHLA - Texas/Louisiana) - An ultra rare moon phenomenon will be happening this June, and you can watch it in Texas and Louisiana. We have all the details.
The Strawberry Moon happens once a year, in June, often around the conclusion of the month. It coincides with the summer solstice.

Why is the Strawberry Moon rare this year?
This year, the 2025 Strawberry Moon occurs during a significant lunar standstill that happens just once every 18.6 years. The Moon will reach its lowest point in its cycle during this period, rising very low in the southern sky. This won't happen again until 2043; the last time it occurred was in 2006.
The name of the phenomenon comes from the Algonquin tribes in North America, they saw this lunar occurrence as a sign from the gods that the wild strawberries were ready to harvest.
USA Today is reporting that this year's Strawberry Moon will also be a micromoon. It will be in its furthest position from the Earth this year, which will make it 14% smaller and 30% dimmer in the sky.
When can I see the Strawberry Moon?
The Strawberry Moon was visible from yesterday evening to early this morning.
