Gulf extreme weather expert Meteorologist Zack Fradella is reporting that there's not only a disturbance in the Atlantic, but there's also an area of interest in the lower Gulf of Mexico that has the NHC watching it closely for potential formation later this week.

With the way Helene and Milton grew so quickly into monster storms in the Gulf during such a short period of time, this area of interest needs to watched closely by everyone living close to the Gulf of Mexico.

Now for some good news, at least for Texas, Fradella has said in recent social media posts that the weather patterns and cold fronts in October will keep storms away from the Lone Star State.

But as we've seen with the last two hurricanes, Florida isn't so lucky. If there's one state that doesn't need another hurricane it's The Sunshine State. The whole state has been effected this year by hurricanes and living on the Gulf and living through Rita and Laura my heart goes out to them.

Another well timed cold front could be saving us again, it should be down to Texas by mid-week and it's a strong one.

I hope this potential storm just bends up into the Atlantic, but we need to keep our eyes on the Gulf and Atlantic this week because you never know what surprises mother nature has in store during hurricane season.
