The feud between drummer John Densmore and his remaining bandmates from the Doors – keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger - has played out in the press for the past decade. Now in his new book, ‘The Doors Unhinged: Jim Morrison’s Legacy Goes on Trial,’ Densmore offers up his very personal account of the lawsuits and the often very public battle he’s endured.

The death of rock stars can be quite a cottage industry. In the case of Jim Morrison, the is no estate to tour. No glass cases of memorabilia to gawk at for $10 a person. No, in Morrison's case, there is only the rare manuscript or, in this case, lost interview. So, here we have Morrison's lost interview extolling the virtues of being overweight. 2012 marks the 40th anniversary of a little album called 'Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, 1965-68,' and to commemorate,  Rhino Records is reissuing the grandaddy of all compilation albums on CD, digitally and, as it was first presented, on vinyl.

For the first time ever, fans of the Doors will be able to hear the entirety of their famous concert at the Hollywood Bowl on July 5, 1968. On Oct. 23, the band will release ‘Live at the Bowl ’68′ in both video (DVD, Blu-ray, digital) and audio (CD, LP, digital) formats.

On July 3, 1971  the career of The Doors essentially came to and end.  Jim Morrison, who WAS the Doors to many people was found dead in his bathtub at his apartment in Paris. There would be re-issues of old material there was even an album of Morrison reciting his poetry. But that was about it...Until today!
