A young girl in Church Point, Louisiana is celebrating now that the electricity at her house has been restored.

A strong line of thunderstorms pushed across much of South Louisiana on Wednesday morning and now we're beginning to see photos of damage across the area.

More storms could be pushing further southward, just days after a line of severe thunderstorms swept through parts of South Louisiana.

As storms swept across south Louisiana on Friday afternoon, a number of places in Acadaina reported and witnessed damage.

Storm names are presented by the World Meteorological Organization. The organization is very conscientious in making sure the names used are non-controversial.

None of us want to think about hurricane season, but the reality is we are a month and a half away from the start of the season.

Despite all the dire weather predictions, most of SOWELA skated through with nothing more than some pretty heavy rain. The storms that blew through last night did some damage to homes, cars, trees and power lines. Our hearts go out to those affected. The storms also created some incredible cloud formations and people posted pictures to facebook. We thought we would share some of those.
