Four unreleased Jimi Hendrix 16mm color films were posted on eBay recently and fetched $10,000 when the video reels sold during the final hours of a ten-day auction. The seller, aware of the concert films one-of-a-kind value started the bidding price at 10K and a sole bidder committed to pay that, in return to own this historic Hendrix memorabilia.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience ‘Electric Ladyland’ UK vinyl sold for 1,250 British pounds (nearly $2,000) last week during an eBay auction. This original stereo first pressing is very scarce and the record is actually advertised as a “genuine investment opportunity.” The one person who placed the bid and won seemingly agreed.

In the halcyon days of progressive FM rock radio, it would not be uncommon to see, say, Tina Turner or Stevie Wonder open for the Rolling Stones. Or Jimi Hendrix open for The Monkees.
Guitarist Ron Wood recently recalled his friendship with the late, great Jimi Hendrix. Speaking on their friendship recently on his show on Absolute Radio UK, Wood said “Jimi was a really sweet, well-mannered boy, and I’m very honored to have shared a little space of time with him back in the late 1960s.”
As the lineup for the 2012 Experience Hendrix tribute tour has expanded, so has the number of dates for the annual concert trek honoring the late, great Jimi Hendrix.
This year’s edition is now up to 21 dates, including recently added concert stops in Florida and Colorado, plus a second show in Austin, Texas.
