Safe Boating Week is under way. Obeying the rules of the water may not only save your life; they may also save you from getting fined.

If you own a boat, no matter if it's a cabin cruiser or a canoe, boating safety is important to everyone. With that in mind,the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will host their annual Boating Safety Lagniappe Day on May 10 at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
