
Over $1 Million In Federal Grants Lands In Southwest Louisiana For Major Airport Projects
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy has announced that several SWLA airports are going to receive federal grants for improvements around their facilities.
According to Senator Cassidy, the money is coming from the bipartisan Infrastructure, Investment, and Jobs Act.

More than $1 million will be divided among these SWLA airports for both new construction and runway upgrades. The money is a component of a broader Airport Improvement Program package worth $5,225,066 for Louisiana.
How Much Southwest Louisiana Airports Will Receive?
$765,000.00 (Beauregard Parish Airport District No. 1) – Federal funds will be used to reseal 5,494 feet of Runway 18/36 pavement at Beauregard Regional Airport.
$331,531.00 (Chennault International Airport Authority) – Federal funds will support the rehabilitation of 5,420 square yards of South Apron pavement at Chennault International Airport.
$50,130.00 (Oakdale Airport) – Federal funds will go toward the design of a new airfield drainage system at Oakdale Airport.
