Law enforcement officials are looking for help in identifying a man accused of robbing a convenience store in Lake Charles late Saturday night.

Here's the story:

According to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers, the armed robbery happened at 11:45 p.m. at the Conoco convenience store in the 6700 block of Nelson Road.

The suspect is a white male who was wearing a light-colored jacket and dark pants. Myers said the man had a black and silver handgun, hood over his head and a bandana covering his face.

"He entered the store and demanded the clerk to open the cash register," Myers said Monday in a news release. "He then ordered the clerk, who was not harmed, down on the floor. The robber placed cash from the register, packs of cigarettes and bottles of alcohol into his black backpack before leaving on foot."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 337-491-3605 or Crimestoppers at 337-439-2222.
