SWLA’s New High School Football Show, Pigskin Preview, Hitting The Road

Lake Charles, Louisiana (KHLA-FM) - With football season on the horizon, we've got some exciting news for Southwest Louisiana High School Football fans!

A few weeks ago, 92.9 The Lake and Townsquare Media Lake Charles announced that we are bringing back the premier High School Football Show to the airwaves in 2025, and we’re adding an exciting twist to the show. And we are super excited to share it with fans!

Over the last few years, 92.9 The Lake has become Southwest Louisiana's station for High School sports coverage with Football and Baseball Game of the Week coverage. Each week, we select the premier matchup in SWLA and cover it on our SWLA Game of the Week on 92.9 The Lake.

Fans here in the SWLA area have been asking for an ALL SWLA High School Football show, and we are bringing one to you! The Pigskin Preview will debut (again) on September 3rd and will air on 92.9 The Lake and on Facebook Live from 7-8 PM.

But, that's not all... We've got even more exciting news!

PIGSKIN PREVIEW HITTING THE ROAD

SWLA's Premier High School Football Show is HITTING THE ROAD! Each week, when we announce our weekly Game of the Week matchup, Fans from each week’s featured matchup are encouraged to pack the house at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Lake Charles and join us LIVE IN PERSON for the show!

The show will not be tailored specifically to our Game of the Week matchup, but also recap the previous week of action and preview the upcoming week. During the show, as long as we have coach participation, we will have a coach interview with each coach for our Game of the Week for that week!

BUT, THAT'S NOT ALL! Thanks to our friends at Walk-On’s, a portion of the proceeds from the show’s room that night will go directly to the football programs of the two schools featured that week. So if you’re coming to support your team, come hungry — the more you eat, the more your school earns.

Just remember,  there’s a no-tolerance policy for bad behavior. Come out, have fun, and help us make Wednesday nights in the fall the place to be for high school football fans.
