New Orleans Music Legend Dave Bartholomew Dies

Dave Bartholomew, a prominent New Orleans musician and rock 'n roll pioneer, died on Sunday at the age of 100.

His eldest son, Dave Bartholomew, Jr., confirmed the news, saying: "Daddy was 100 years and six months. It was just that time."

The legend co-wrote and produced some huge hits with Fats Domino such as "Ain't That a Shame," "I'm Walkin,'" and "Let the Four Winds Blow."

Bartholomew was a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.

Bartholomew is survived by his wife Rhea, three sons, three step-children, 25 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
