
Experts Downgrade The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season Forecast For Louisiana And Texas
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - We're not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination; however, experts just downgraded their hurricane season forecast.
Colorado State University (CSU) says several factors are contributing to them revising their 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season Forecast.

Wind shear over the Caribbean Sea and lower water temperatures than expected in the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean, and Gulf of America can be attributed to this new direction.
Dr. Phil Klotzbach and his team are now forecasting that the season will be only slightly above normal with 16 named storms. They predict eight of those named storms will be hurricanes and that three will be major hurricanes.

Meteorologist Zack Fradella posted on a graphic what the current water temperatures look like in the Atlantic Ocean.
So far this season, there's only been three tropical storms and zero hurricanes in the Atlantic basin.
