Movies Under the Stars Returns Every Friday This Month In Lake Charles, Louisiana

(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - The very popular local public movie series, Movies Under The Stars, returns to Lake Charles with movies shown every Friday this month.

The movie series will start this Friday and feature "a Viking-dragon duo, a retired superhero, an inflatable robot, and two unlikely besties" put on by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury.

The first film shown will be the 2025 live action version of “How to Train Your Dragon” (PG). All movies will be shown at the Prien Lake Park, 3700 West Prien Lake Road.

All films will begin at 6:30pm, but to get the best viewing site, arrive early. It's recommended that families bring their own food, lawn chairs, and blankets. At every event, free cotton candy and popcorn will be provided.

• Friday, Oct. 17: Big Hero 6
• Friday, Oct. 24: Wicked

Movies will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced before the event on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website, and on CPPJ’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
