You can track the kind of birds migrating over your Parish and Louisiana as a whole, what speed they're flying, what direction and how high they're flying, and much more.

The Houston Chronicle gave some great tips on how you can help the birds fly safely during their nightly migration over your area:

Researchers suggest turning off nonessential lighting from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. to help protect birds. Lights can throw birds off their migration paths, bird fatalities are more directly caused by the amount of energy the birds waste flying around and calling out in confusion.

The bird migration forecast maps show predicted nocturnal migration three hours after local sunset and are updated every six hours.
