It's finally here folks. College basketball is back in Southwest Louisiana and tonight both the Men and Women's basketball teams will be in action tonight with their first games of the season.

The men hit the road to Lincoln, Nebraska today to take on the Cornhuskers of the Big 10 conference. The game has an early start in Lincoln set for 11:00am.  The game will be televised on the BIG 10 Network but not be available locally on radio.

The McNeese Cowgirls will also be in action tonight as they travel to Ruston to take on Louisiana Tech with tip off set for 6:30pm. It will be the first time the Cowgirls will see real game action in eight long months.

This game tonight will be the start of an eight game road trip for the Cowgirls. The game will be streamed, and the link can be found on mcneesesports.com.

As we reported earlier, once the Cowboys and Cowgirls basketball teams finally make it back to Lake Charles for home games, they will be played in the Burton Coliseum due to the fact that the H&HP complex sustained damage from both hurricanes Laura and Delta.

Also we reported that when the McNeese play at home, the first 2000 fans to the arena will get in for free for each of the home games.  The McNeese Athletics department said that this was a way of giving back since so many folks are still recovering from the two storms.  Personally, I think it's a great way for all of us just to get away for a few hours and forget about all our troubles.

Good luck to the Cowboys and Cowgirls this season!
