McNeese Sees Huge Jump In Ticket Sales Leading Up To The Football Season
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - The buzz is real in SWLA about the McNeese football team and ticket sales are booming.
The return of legendary Cowboy head coach Matt Viator, the new press box, and several big transfers including QB Jake Strong from Texas Tech have added a much-needed lift in McNeese football fans spirits for this upcoming season.
According to KPLC, McNeese is reporting that those lifted spirits have resulted in a 70% increase in ticket sales from last year.

I'm extremely excited about the triumphant return of Head Coach Matt Viator. Kudos to Athletic Director Heath Schroyer for having the vision of bringing back a proven winner and McNeese coaching legend to help return the football program to greatness.
Coach Viator brings back quite the Southland Conference resume to the Pokes: four SLC championships (2006–2007, 2009, 2015), and three times Southland Coach of the Year (2006–2007, 2015).
The McNeese football season kicks off August 30 with a home game versus Louisiana College. The 2025 schedule includes two FBS matchups with UL-Lafayette and Utah State, plus a conference battle with new member school UTRGV at Cowboy Stadium November 15.
