McNeese Baseball Beats Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns in 17 Innings
The McNeese State Baseball team has been very streaky this year. They won their first four games then proceeded to lose four straight. Let's hope they started another winning streak yesterday in Lafayette.
In 1971 the Pokes played a 23 inning game against Louisiana- Lafayette. yesterday's game went 17 innings. The Cowboys had not won in their last six tries at Tigue Moore Field. The Connos came through for the Cowboys in the 17th inning. Connor Loyd's RBI single in the 17th inning scored Connor Crane to give the Cowboys the win. Freshman Austin Briggs came in to pitch the bottom of the inning and shut the Cajuns down securing the Pokes 5-4 win.
