‘Mattress Mack’ Places Huge First Bet At Horseshoe Casino Lake Charles, Louisiana

Houston businessman "Mattress Mack" placed the first ever sports wager at the newly opened Horseshoe Casino in Lake Charles today, and boy was it a whopper!

Jim McIngvale is known for his big heart, deep pockets, and his love for sports betting. Whenever there's a first bet to be made at a new casino, you can bet Mack wants the opportunity to place it.

He hopped on I-10 this morning and travelled in from Houston to the Horseshoe Casino for their grand opening and placed the first ever sports bet at the newly opened casino. Several media outlets were there to capture the moment.

I personally hope he hits on the bet, because Mack usually ties it into promotions for his mattress stores where customers can get reimbursed for their mattress purchase if he wins his bet.

At the time of writing this article, the Houston Cougars (9-1) are the #2 ranked basketball team in the nation right behind UCONN. The current betting odds that the Cougars win the NCAA Basketball Championship are 45-1.

If Mack does win the bet he will collect $46 million. He'll get back the $1 million he wagered and then receive $45 million for his winnings.
