Old Isle Of Capri Site Getting New Life Thanks to Caesars

Lake Charles is the place for fun. Whether you want some of the best food or culture around. There is nobody quite doing it like Lake Charles and being successful at it. We have plenty of gaming opportunities for anyone visiting our area and now there is word that we will be getting another addition to the gaming industry here in southwest Louisiana.

When I first moved here in 2001, I remember Harrahs Casino and Isle Of Capri which closed several years ago. However, there has been much construction over there and most of the city including myself were wondering what was going to be happening in the old Isle Of Capri facility. The transformation is being made where they will be a part of the Caesars Entertainment company and will be under the Horseshoe moniker. If you are not familiar with them, they have a location in Bossier City.

State Senator Jeremy Stines and Louisiana State Gaming Control Board Chairman Ronnie Johns took a tour of the construction site last week. According to Jeff Favre, Sr, VP, General Manager Caesars says that the new building will be about 110,000 square feet with about 63,000 of that being gaming space. There will also be a 253- room Tower Hotel that will be completely remodeled and adjacent to the new casino.

The casino is expected to be opened by the end of this year. With the construction site, there are plenty of job opportunities and once the facility is opened, there will be more job opportunities as well for many to be a part of. Lake Charles is truly that spot when it comes to gaming and fun and with the introduction of the Horseshoe Casino to come, things are going to be even bigger and better for the area.
