Stumped For Baby Name? Here’s Louisiana’s 10 Most Popular
It won't be long until we hit "Baby Season." Of course, babies are born every day, but according to the website, unitypoint.org, the summer months tend to be the busiest of the year for births.
July through October tends to be the most popular birth months in the United States. August is the overall most popular month for birthdays, which makes sense, considering a late August birthday means December conception.
And if you happen to be one of those expecting a little one in the near future, and have yet to decide on a name, you could probably use a little help.
NPR.org says the name we select for that new baby could be one of the most important things we ever do for them.
Names are important because they're one of the ways that we mark our place in the world. They're the first symbols of our identity and one of the first things we lead with when we meet someone new, like now.
In an effort to help you with that selection, earlier today the site Names.org released the Most Popular Baby Names in Louisiana in 2023 based on Social Security Administration data on births and user interest on its website.
Some of their findings showed that six of Louisiana's top boy names and seven of Louisiana's top girl names were also on the national top 10 lists.
However, that did leave four boys' names including John, Asher, Levi and Wyatt, and three girls' names including Olivia, Ava and Amelia, that were unique to the Bayou State.
See if any of these strike your fancy for your little one if you have yet to pick one out!
