LCPD Establishes Perimeter to Apprehend 2 Suspects in Thursday Morning Burglary & Theft
A local man and a juvenile are behind bars and charged with aggravated burglary, theft, theft of a firearm, resisting arrest, and more after the Lake Charles Police Departement set up a perimeter to apprehend them on the morning of Thursday, Feb. 8.
According to a media release, it was roughly 2:45 a.m. when officers responded to the 1800 block of Barbe Street "in reference to a burglary and theft involving firearms."
Officers reportedly located two potential suspects shortly after, but after speaking with them they fled into the wooded area between Shellbeach Drive and Sallier Street. After establishing a perimeter, both suspects were apprehended at approximately 11 a.m.
LCPD had "virtually every on-duty weapons carrier" helping to apprehend the two suspects, as well as the assistance of the Calcasieu Parish Sherriff's Office airplane.
18-year-old Tyrese Nekael Andrews of Lake Charles was arrested and has been charged aggravated burglary, theft, theft of a firearm, resisting arrest, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His photo hasn't been released yet.
The 15-year-old juvenile, whose name and photo have not been released, was charged with aggravated burglary, theft, theft of a firearm, illegal possession of stolen firearms, resisting arrest, and possession of CDS I. H
A bond has not yet been set.
