According to a media release, officers with the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a shooting on Saturday, November 2, at 2:02pm in the 2700 block of Church Street. Officers then located the victim, Quentin Coleman, 27, of Lake Charles with injures sustained from the shooting. Officers attempted CPR but were unsuccessful. Coleman died due to his injuries.

Investigators spoke with witnesses who identified the suspect as Donta Robinson, 27, of Lake Charles. He was located at a home shortly thereafter and arrested without incident.

Robinson is charged with 2nd degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond.

It's the 13th homicide investigated by the Lake Charles Police Department in 2019.
