According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Lake Charles resident, 30-year-old Britney E. Pousson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and home invasion last night, August 9. Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Kayla Vincent told KPLC 7 deputies responded to a call around 10:30pm that shots were fired at a home on East Gauthier Road. When the officers arrived on the scene, they discovered, 37-year-old Mac A. Frazier dead inside.

During the initial investigation, deputies determined the call to dispatch was made by a man who was in the home at the time of the shooting. The man, according to 7 News, escaped the home without injury and fled to a neighbor’s home and placed the emergency call from there. Pousson was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with the murder of Frazier.

A motive is unknown, as the homicide investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
