The Siren Warning System in Lake Charles is to be tested today. I really don't know why. If you were around Saturday morning you know that it works just fine.

The system is supposed to alert the community in the event of a toxic gas release, weather emergency or any other emergency that would require immediate notification of the citizens of Lake Charles. The Calcasieu Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness issued a statement today to let the community know in advance that today's Sirens are only a test.
