Kids Get An Opportunity To Touch-A- Truck This Saturday In Lake Charles
The Junior League of Lake Charles along with Bolton Ford will present Touch- A- Truck this Saturday at The Burton Coliseum, 7001 Gulf Hwy, Lake Charles. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m with a silent hour from 9 a.m to 10 a.m.
Every child has that playful moment and interest of wanting to climb all over a vehicle. I remember when my mother got her first car, I sat in the vehicle and listened to the radio until she finally made me get out. I remember sitting in the driver's seat while she watched me, and of course, warned me not to touch a thing. It was just something about that moment of simulating driving that really intrigued my interest which is funny because I personally love to be a passenger nowadays.
This event Saturday will give children a chance to explore different vehicles, and ask questions at the same time. There will be over 50 vehicles on display and will vary from public service, construction, emergency, utility, landscaping, and so many other vehicles and the kids will be able to explore them all.
The first hour will be a silent hour which will allow kids the opportunity to enjoy the calm of things before the big party kicks off. There will be live entertainment for this event which will include the Washington Marion Band, Barbe Show Choir, and more. The Louisiana State Police and the Child Safety Program will also be on hand to offer car seat checks from 9 to noon.
There will be a $5 admission per person and this will allow for all-day access. Children 2 and under are admitted free. If you would like to get additional information about the Touch-A-Truck event, don't hesitate to call Kristi Madden at 318-229-1700 or email her at publicrelations@jlll.net.
