
Dr. Kedrick Nicholas Voted To Be Interim President At McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - The University of Louisiana System Board unanimously elected a long-time McNeese leader to temporary serve as president of the university while the committee searches for the candidates to replace Dr. Wade Rousse.
KPLC is reporting that former President Rousse, who was named the new president of the LSU System last week, suggested Dr. Kedrick Nicholas for the role.

Who Is McNeese State University's Interim President?
McNeese recruited Nicholas, a native of New Orleans, to play football. Before obtaining a doctorate in teaching from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, he completed his undergraduate and master's degree at McNeese.
Before being promoted to senior vice president in 2024, Nicholas held a number of positions at McNeese for nearly twenty years, including dean of students.

What Will McNeese Do Without A President?
Dr. Nicholas had this to say at the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors meeting:
We are prepared as a team to continue the momentum that we have had, and there will be no change to our approach. We will continue to focus on the recruitment, retention and job placement of the students at McNeese State University. The strategic plan that was developed under the Rousse administration will remain in place and will continue to be the catalyst of our continued success.
Dr. Rousse will take over as president of LSU this coming Monday after resigning from McNeese on Sunday, November 16.
