Hunting Guide Cited For Shooting Ducks Out Of Season Near Gueydan
(KMDl-FM) A South Louisiana hunting guide has been cited by agents of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife for alleged duck hunting violations. The violations were believed to have occurred in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, on or about September 27th.

According to a news release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife, a hunting guide working with hunters near Guyedan, Louisiana, near the beginning of the recently concluded Teal Season, is alleged to have instructed the hunters in his party to shoot at ducks that were determined to be out of season.
What Duck Seasons Are Open in Louisiana Right Now?
Teal season ended in Louisiana on September 27th. Currently, there is another specialty duck season open for hunters. For the first time, Louisiana hunters may participate in the special nine-day Louisiana black-bellied whistling duck season through Oct. 11.
According to the LDWF report, Sgt. Zachary Meche, Sgt. Jacob Cramer, and Sgt. Justin Sonnier were participants in the case involving Matthew Morgan of Cameron, Louisiana. Morgan is the guide who is alleged to have instructed hunters under his direction to shoot ducks that were later determined to be out of season.

The ducks in question were wood ducks. To make matters worse and possibly compound the case, Morgan is alleged to have discarded the deceased out-of-season ducks in a canal behind the blind where the hunting party was shooting.

And if you don't like guns and shooting or spending time in the woods, you can always hunt with your car. We don't recommend it, but so far, that's the only way I have managed to kill a deer.
