Why did the Chicken cross the road?! Because March 19th is National Poultry Day? That's right, a whole day dedicated to celebrating chickens, turkeys, ducks, and all our feathered friends. No need for fowl moods or getting your tail feathers in a twist today, unless you're cracking up at some poultry puns, of course!

What's Cooking on National Poultry Day?

National Poultry Day is the perfect excuse to eat all things chicken from the moment you wake up until you hit the hay. How about starting your day with a delicious Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit from none other than Whataburger? When lunch rolls around, why not gobble down some Chicken Wings? And for dinner, nothing beats the classic comfort of fried chicken. If you’re like me and love to cook here's an amazing Cajun recipe from Justin Wilson:

Chicken History:

Chickens made their grand entrance to the United States thanks to European explorers in the 16th century. Initially, Americans kept just enough birds to feed their families. However, chicken became a dinner staple, especially during World War II when beef and pork were hard to come by. Nowadays, the U.S. raises about 9 billion chickens a year (that’s a lot of nuggets)!
