Laine Hardy To Headline 2024 Beauregard Watermelon Festival
With summer quickly approaching, one of Southwest Louisiana's most popular festivals will be making its return for the 19th year, and this year they will have Laine Hardy as its headliner!
The Beauregard Watermelon Festival is full of fun, whether you're looking for sweet watermelons, carnival rides, games, or food, they have it and so much more.
Last year the festival featured games like the Watermelon Weiner Dog Derby, the Watermelon Relay Races, Seed Spitting Competitions, Watermelon Eating Competitions, Watermelon Growing Classes, Mullet Competition, Baby Watermelon Crawl Contests, and so many others.
The festival is always a great time, featuring a top-tier music lineup, and this year should be no different. They haven't released the complete schedule of events yet, but they did announce Thursday Morning that American Idol Winner Laine Hardy would Headline the Festival on Friday Night.
Laine Hardy is from Livingston, Louisiana, and was the seventeenth-season winner of American Idol.
When Laine Hardy initially applied, he placed in the top 50 for the sixteenth season of American Idol. Although he had no intention of auditioning for the seventeenth season, judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie urged him to do so when he played guitar for his best friend's sister, Ashton Gill, during her audition. This time he made it to the final and won the competition, making Alejandro Aranda runner-up and Madison VanDenburg second runner-up.
The 2024 Watermelon Festival will take place in DeRidder, Louisiana on the Fairgrounds June 27-29. Laine Hardy will headline Saturday Night June 29th.
