Many years ago, even before I was in radio, plays were frequently acted out by radio actors in a studio. Sometimes, people played more than one character. It didn't matter since the audience couldn't see the actors, so why not put people in several roles. People would tune in nightly to hear these compelling stories. After all, the little theater that lives in your mind.

I don't know how long it's been, but several years ago, I took part in a radio play of "It's a Wonderful Life" on stage and I had the time of my life! The audience seemed to really enjoy the production and several people have commented since that time that they'd like to see it again.

This time around, the radio stage play of "It's a Wonderful Life" will be presented by Itinerant Theatre. The show, written by Joe Landry and directed by Joy Pace, features a very talented cast and much of the cast will be playing more than one character in the show.

I guess just about everyone is familiar of this timeless story of George Bailey and his not-too-bright, but well meaning angel Clarence. If you love the movie, you'll really enjoy the on stage production. You might find that the stage version of this timeless classic is played a bit more for laughs than the movie.

Included in the cast are: Bianca Augustine, Hannah Barker, Julian H. Green, Jo Ann Hanks, Dan Sadler, Travis Spears, Natalie Sell, Shauna Temple, and Matt Tonkavich - with Tony James on Piano.

Itinerant Theatre will present It’s a Wonderful Life:  A Live Radio Play December 1, 2, 8, 9, at 7:00pm and Sunday December 3 at 2:00 pm at Lake Charles Little Theatre, 813 Enterprise Blvd. Lake Charles, LA 70601.
