How Much SWLA Residents Spend On 4th Of July

We held a Facebook poll asking SWLA how much and what they will spend their money on for Independence Day.  Here are the results.

The majority of Southwest Louisianans will spend less than $100 to celebrate the Fourth of July tomorrow.  But 1 in 10 people will spend over $500, and 1 in 50 will drop more than $1,000.  Yep, a stack!

And here's what people say they're spending the majority of their money on . . .

1.  Food, 54%.

2.  Alcohol, 14%.

3.  Fireworks, 14%.

4.  Travel, 8%.

5.  Patriotic items, 2%.

Yes, that means 28% of Southwest Louisianans are putting most of their Independence Day cash into fireworks or booze.  Funny I thought alcohol would've been #1.

And ironic if you stop and thank about it, because booze and fireworks never mix!
