It's a great Lake Charles tradition! Every year, the big Red, White, Blue and You city-wide celebration gets bigger and bigger. this year, there's tons of entertainment and, of course, the whole event culminates with the Light Up the Lake Fireworks display.

Once again this year, 92-9 The Lake is very proud to be supplying the soundtrack to those fireworks. So, while you at the civic center, just crank up your radio and enjoy the soundtrack while you watch the display.

Here's the rundown for the day

6:00 p.m.      Street Parade Downtown Ryan Street

Civic Center Outdoor Amphitheatre:

6:30 p.m.  Bluegrass Music by Market Blue

8:00 p.m.  Lake Charles Community Band w/Louisiana Choral Foundation & Friends: Salute to Armed Forces

9:15 p.m. Fireworks Over the Lake

The City of Lake Charles is making plans for the annual Red White Blue & You Celebration. As part of the celebration, participants and spectators are invited to join in the fun for the parade, concerts and fireworks. The parade will roll from Mill Street heading south on Ryan Street toward Lock Park/7th Street. Anyone who would like to join in the parade is invited to decorate their floats, vehicles, golf carts, bicycles, marching units, etc. Denise Fasske, event manager said “This route is the perfect distance for kids to participate by decorating their bikes and wagons and filing in line.”  Spectators are encouraged to line the streets for beads and candy. For more information and parade entry forms call 337-491-9159 or www.cityoflakecharles.com.
