This conservative group is actively campaigning to remove the death penalty here in Louisiana.

20 states have already abolished the death penalty, and the Louisiana Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty group is looking to make that number 21.

It's been quite a long time since Louisiana executed an inmate. That was in 2010, nearly 10 years ago. Hannah Cox, the organization’s national manager, says a recent study indicates the death penalty cost the state’s taxpayers nearly $16 million more annually than life without parole.

The organization is picking up steam nationwide, with politicians in 13 different states joining the cause.

Do you believe the death penalty should be abolished in Louisiana?
