Grammy Winner Lucinda Williams To Perform in Hometown Lake Charles for The First Time [VIDEO]
Lucinda Williams will finally return to the city where she was born and wrote a song about. She will perform in Lake Charles for the first time on Wednesday, May 21st at 7:30 PM. The show will be at the Shearman Fine Arts Center on the McNeese Campus.
Lucinda Williams was Time magazine's "Best Song Writer" in 2002 but won her first Grammy several years before that with a song covered by Mary Chapin Carpenter titled "Passionate Kisses." Then her breakthrough album and commercial success came with her 1998 album "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road". That album went Gold (sales of over 500,000) and earned Williams her second Grammy plus it featured the song "Lake Charles." Her music has been categorized as American Rock, Folk, Blues and Country. Lucinda Williams is a very unique artist who's music I was hooked on years ago. This should be a great concert. Tickets are available at here and we will be giving them away.
