Free Child Passenger Safety Check in Sulphur, Saturday, August 19
Sulphur, La. - The Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force along with Louisiana State Police (LSP) Troop D and the Sulphur Police Department will give free child passenger safety seat checks on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the West Cal Event Center at 401 Arena Road in Sulphur, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to properly inspect seats to be sure they are installed correctly and that the child is in an age and weight appropriate child restraint and to answer any questions free of charge.
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children. Louisiana state law requires drivers to ensure every child in a motor vehicle equipped with safety belts is properly secured, regardless of seating position in the vehicle. Many injuries and deaths can be prevented by properly using child safety seats. - LSP
