Mike Foster, a former two-term Louisiana governor, passed away Sunday surrounded by friends and family.

Foster is best known for his education reform in the state during his tenure as governor. He started the public school accountability program and created the state's community college system.

Our family and I are saddened to announce that after 90 remarkable years, my dear husband has passed, our family will miss him dearly.
