He's 29 years old now, but Al Woods was a standout player back when he was a key member of the Elton Indians, but Al had some pretty big dreams and he's stuck with it. To add to his resume, Woods has now signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Woods, 29, signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts.Not a bad deal at all for a kid who grew up in Elton wanting to play football, is it?

Woods goes to the Colts by way of the Titans. The Titans cut Woods back on March 8th after signing a contract worth $10,000 million. Earlier in his career, Woods was a fourth-round draft pick for the Saints, he was, in fact the last LSU player drafted by the Saints. Over a seven year NFL career, Woods played for the Buccaneers, the Seahawks and the Steelers as well.

Back when he was with Elton, Woods was one of the top prep defensive tackle prospects in the country. By the time he made senior, Woods was in the starting line-up and notched up an impressive record of13 games, recording 33 tackles, including 5.5 for a loss. Woods was also named All-American by Reebok, USA Today and Parade magazine.

Woods was also  a key contributor to LSU’s 2007 National Championship squad.
